Enishi was established in 1999.

The following year we moved to Kamogawa, Chiba.
We have been creating pleasant clothes
using a variety of comfortable materials and primarily hemp.
We enjoy discovering things out of the day-to-day life
as our aim is to become a brand which can interact with nature.

Since we started living in a "satoyama" (small woodlands)
we are minded to develop our products by listening to nature
which provide us with the message.

Anyway, What is "enishi"?

Quite often asked.
I actually went to a Buddhism University in Kyoto.
Some words from the speech of the principal
at the University's inauguration ceremony got stuck in my head.

"It was some kind of "enishi"
(means connection/karma/destiny/chance, etc...)
that have made you come here,
so please spend your student life with full joy and effort."

This speech seemed to be nothing special at that time,
however when the time of launching our clothing brand came
the thought just flew over in my mind.

Now I am even called "enishi-san" (Mr. enishi).
I would like to continue this brand as my life-work as well as my diligence.

So, the concept of "enishi" is...

Everyday life is quite ordinary...
getting up in the morning, going surfing, having meals,
playing with children, taking bath...

Even in this kind of ordinary life,
our minds can become excited if dressed in pleasant clothes that make you happy.
Comfortable and somewhat fashionable,
not too ostentatious but lovely clothes.
Of course manufacturing our products under the premise of causing
as less impact on earth as possible.

This is probably what "enishi" is aiming at... (presently)

If this or where we are going to changes is something
which ourselves never know,
but we will certainly continue to produce pleasant clothing
which will keep you happy.

That means we wish everyone to live cheerfully with "enishi"!
